KARACHI, April 29: Five ships carrying containers and highspeed diesel are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to the KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was relatively slow owing to delay in arrivals of some foreign flag vessels. Three ships, Mar Challenger, Global Prosperity and Kota Waruna to unload and load containers were berthed after the departure of five.

The ships, which departed included Iwato, Kota Waruna, Trade Swan, Lombardia and Bow Giovanni, while Nur Yanbu, Min He, Mar Challenger and Multan are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves showed a sizable expansion at 76,185 tons comprising 21,264 tons of export cargo and 54,921 tons of import cargo. The export cargo also included 2,122 tons of rice.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: APL Mexico, Hyundai Highway and Astor, with containers, Action Express and Marly Ann, with 50,000 tons highspeed diesel each.
