KARACHI, April 15 Pakistan Steel secured full points when they overwhelmed Saudi Pak International by seven wickets in the third round of Patron's Trophy Grade-II match here at the Quaid-e-Azam Park Steel Township Ground on Wednesday.

Paceman Majid Khan took four wickets for 69 in 21.5 overs, Nadeem-ul-Haq claimed three for 28 in seven overs with his off-spin and left arm spinner Salman Fazal Khan bagged two wickets for 29 runs in 22 overs as Saudi Pak International were bowled out for 236 in their second innings.

Skipper Nadeem-ul-Haq played a pivotal role in his team's triumph as he finished with match haul of seven wickets and then saw his team to victory by scoring an unbeaten 30 with five 4s as Pakistan Steel reached the target for the loss of just three wickets in the 18th over.

Earlier in the innings, Imran Haider gave Pak Steel an upper hand by scoring fine, unbeaten 127.

Pakistan Steel will now take on Pakistan Navy in their third league match starting on Friday at their own ground.

In another match in the metropolis, Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) remained in the hunt for a place in the semifinals after their three-day match against UBL ended in a tame draw at the UBL Sports Complex Ground on Wednesday.

KESC, who had scored 405 for the loss of eight wickets in their first innings, had gained three valuable points by restricting UBL to 351-7 in the allotted 83 overs.

KESC, who led by 54 runs in the first innings, was bowled out for 270 in their second outing in the last session of third and final day's play.

UBL, who needed improbable 325 to win in 27 overs, was 73 without loss at which stage the match was called off with mutual consent of the two captain with 11 overs remaining.

Left-arm seamer Ruman Khan was pick of UBL bowling attack, snapping up four wickets for 54 runs in 20 overs while medium-pacer Muhammad Irshad and off-spinner Shoaib Leghari grabbed three wickets each, giving away 69 and 59 runs respectively.
