LAHORE, April 23: Mirza Masroor Ahmed was elected the fifth Imam of the Jamaat-i-Ahmdiya in London on Tuesday night, says a message received here on Wednesday.

Born on Sept 15, 1950, Mirza Masroor Ahmed is the son of Mirza Mansoor, the grandson of Jamaat founder Mirza Ghulam Ahmed.

He is a master’s in agriculture economics from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad.

He has also served as Nazir-i-Taleem at the Anjuman Ahmadia head office and was Nazir-i-Aala and local Amir before his election as head of the Jamaat.
