Seven die in accident near Dhadar

QUETTA, Oct 10: Seven people were killed and 13 others including a woman were injured, six of them seriously, on Wednesday when a passenger wagon fell into a deep ravine after hitting a truck near Mushkaf area of Dhadar about 135km from here at Quetta-Sibi highway.

“Five persons including driver of the wagon died on the spot while two others succumbed to their injuries in the hospital,” hospital sources in Dhadar said adding that six serious injured were shifted to Civil Hospital, Quetta for treatment.

According to police sources a Quetta bound wagon No. QAJ-31050 carrying 20 persons from Jacobabad collided with a speeding truck coming from opposite direction when it reached near Mushkaf.

The wagon after hitting the truck fell into a deep ravine resulting in the death of five persons on the spot. All the injured were rushed to Civil Hospital, Dhadar, where two more passengers succumbed to their injuries.

Hospital sources said that the condition of six out of 13 injured passengers was serious and they were shifted to Civil Hospital, Quetta, in the late evening.

Those who died in the accident were identified as Gul Hasan, Mohammad Suleman, Qasir Khan, Sher Afzal, Mohammad Bashir, Afzal Jan and driver Noor Jan.

The injured are Barkat Ali, Allah Bukhsh, Mirza Khan, Shahmir, Fateh Mohammad, Saba Khatoon, Dad Mohammad, Mohammad Bukhsh, Mohammad Sadiq, Nasibullah and Shaban Ali.
