SALARIES DEMANDED: The employees of the public health engineering department took out a rally on Friday against the non-payment of their salaries.

The protesters marched on Station Road and staged a demonstration in front of the press club. They demanded that they be provided their salaries, which remain outstanding since the last 17 months.

They also urged authorities to regularize the services of those employees who had been working for five years or more on daily wages.
