KARACHI: Shaikh Liaquat laid to rest

KARACHI, Sept 24 Deputy Convener of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement's coordination committee and former MNA Shaikh Liaquat Hussain was laid to rest in the vicinity of Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine on Thursday.

Mr Hussain, who was also head of the party's Khidmat-i-Khalq Foundation, died on Wednesday night.

Senate Chairman and Acting President Farooq H. Naek, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Deputy Senate Chairman Jan Mohammad Khan Jamali, MQM chief Altaf Hussain and leaders of various political and religious parties expressed their grief and sorrow over his demise.—Agencies
