LAHORE, Dec 7: The Punjab University has finalized arrangements to issue new format computerized degrees bearing relevant information in English.
Controller of Examinations Dr Ehsan Malik formally inaugurated the issuance of new format computerized degrees by laser printer on Friday.
Besides issuing fresh degrees, the university will also issue all outstanding degrees since 1996 on the new format.
As there are around 300,000 pending degrees since 1996, the university will, however, print around 100,000 on the old format which was lying with the university.
The new degrees have been designed by university’s Institute of Art and Design director Prof Hasan Shahnawaz Zaidi. The degree will be issued on A4 size paper to meet the international standards.
Dr Malik said the university had installed its printing press in record time. He said the heavy duty laser printer was capable of printing 6,000 degrees in an hour.
He said he had also issued 450,000 degrees to students from the year 1990 onward. Some degrees also related to the decade of 1970, Dr Malik said.
