LAHORE, Dec 7: Markaz al-Dawa Wal Irshad amir Hafiz Muhammad Saeed claimed on Friday the Pakistan government was ready to hand over an important part of Northern Areas, high mountain peaks and leaders some of jihadi organizations to America in “a hope of saving the country and its nuclear installations.” “This is going to happen under the rule of the army which has taken oath to protect the homeland in all circumstances,” he said delivering a Juma sermon at the Mochi Gate ground.
He said the interior minister was hurling threats of launching a crackdown on jihadi organizations after Eid. He is speaking on behalf of Washington,” he said, adding:” We are not afraid of attacks on our centres and do not value such statements as no-one can check the spread of jihad all over the world.”
He said the BBC and the CNN were broadcasting fabricated news (about Afghanistan) to discourage the Muslims across the world. It was a fact that the Taliban had themselves vacated various areas without any fight to save the local population from destruction, he said.
Hafiz Saeed said the Muslims were being presented as terrorists by the world media though no other nation but the Muslims were being targeted everywhere.
He said jihad in Afghanistan would continue in the form of a guerilla war as the Taliban had retreated and taken positions on mountains.
“It is a centuries-old tradition of the Afghans that they abandon their dwellings and climb on mountains if they feel themselves unable to resist against a strong aggressor,” he said. “They successfully used this war strategy against the British and the former Soviet Union.”
Hafiz Saeed said the puppet government being installed in Afghanistan with the American cooperation would prove as a failed government like the Bonn conference.
He said Muslim rulers had played the role of hypocrites by supporting the US and its allied forces in their incessant and unjustified bombing of innocent Afghans.
He reminded Pakistan’s rulers that the latest war technology and machinery was being transferred to India while Islamabad was just being assured of some sweet promises.
“Had Gen Musharraf talked to Bush like he had talked to Vajpayee in Agra, he would have become a hero of the Muslim world,” he said.
JAMAAT-I-ISLAMI: Acting JI Amir Syed Munawwar Hasan, while delivering a Juma sermon at Jamia Mansoora, said that Gen Musharraf had, under pressure from US, declared various Jihadi organizations as terrorist ignoring his earlier statements in which he had said that there was a clear difference between Jihad and terrorism.
