PESHAWAR, Dec 7: United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) will resume relocation operation of displaced Afghan families from Jalozai makeshift camp to the Bajaur and Kurram agencies on Saturday.
The operation was suspended when some persons fired at a UNHCR vehicle, returning from Bajaur Agency, near Shabqadar on Tuesday. The staff, however, escaped unhurt.
Following the incident, the UNHCR suspended its operation for three days and demanded that the provincial government should provide additional security to its staff, travelling in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
The government has decided to beef up security in the area and six suspects have been arrested. In this connection the administration has decided to deploy Frontier Constabulary contingents along the route.
The agency will shift some 100,000 Afghans.
