Tigers in quarterfinals

KARACHI, Dec 6: Karachi Tigers moved into the last eight of the Third All Karachi Sundip Trophy Colour Kit Ramazan cricket tournament after beating United Gymkhana by 28 runs at the Airport Stadium.

Batting first Karachi Tigers made 164 for six in the 20 allotted overs with Rahim Umair (58), Amjad Qureshi (50) and Talha Ali (25 n.o.) among the runs. Rizwan Mehboob bagged (3-29) and Mairaj-ul-Haq (2-25).

United Gymkhana in reply were restricted to 136 for eight in their 20 stipulated overs through some tidy bowling by Mazhar Ali (3-31) and Tabish Shahid (2-26). Qaseemuddin top scored for the losers with a sound knock of 44. Hammad Rafiq 26 and Tahir Ejaz (23) were also among the runs.
