LAHORE, Dec 5: Bishop Club and New Age Club worked hard to win their respective matches on the eighth night of the Ramazan-ul-Mubarak Inter-club basketball tournament at the Cathedral School II courts on Tuesday night.

On Wednesday night, New Age Club will meet Bishop Club and Don Bosco Club will face Brothers Club. The winners will qualify for the final to be held on Thursday at 10am.

Bishop Club faced strong opposition from Brothers Club before earning 72-65 win. The score was 35-all at half time.

The nail-biting fight remained in progress throughout the competition as both the sides displayed high order game.

For the winners, Pervez Younis played a central role for the win. He contributed 25 points.

Zahid Anthony (15), Raja Kamran (12) and Javed Younis (11) ably supported Pervez Younis to earn laurels for their team.

For the fighting Brothers Club, Aasim Kazmi (20) and Jawad Amin (18) were the chief scorers.

Airaj Gill (12) and Issaq Raju  (11) touched the double figure.

New Age Club, staged a comeback in another thrilling encounter against Don Bosco Club. Losing the first half at 36-38, New Age Club managed to come out with a victory with a score of 78-74.

Kamran Munwar and Maqsood shared 42 points equally. Saadat (16) and Zafar (15) were the other key scorers for the winning club.

Ali  Naseer (22), Abdur Rahman (19), Saman Mahboob  (16)  and Usman Butt (11) caught the eyes from the losing side.
