LAHORE, April 13: Asif Yar Tiwana scored six goals but two goals by Azhar Ali, including the match-winner in the extra fifth chukker played an important part to help SHV Energy win the Guard Filters polo tournament beating Musa Industries in an exciting final 8-7 here on Sunday.

Musa led 2-1 in the first chukker. Malik Atif Yar Tiwana scored the first followed by Ahmad Ali Tiwana who scored three goals, in the match. Asif opened his account to reduce the margin in the dying minute of the chukker.

SHV dominated the second chukker and led 3-2. Azhar scored his first followed by Asif who netted his second.

Musa again surged ahead in the third chukker which they led 6-4 by scoring four goals. Ahmad scored his first goal for Musa to restore the parity 3-3. Asif again put SHV ahead 4-3 by scoring his third goal.

But here Taimur Malik brought Musa back in the match by registering a hat trick to give his side a convincing lead of 6-4.

Fight for the supremacy was not over in the fourth chukker as both the teams were locked at 7-7. Asif scored back to back goals to again neutralise the encounter at 6-6. Ahmad blasted his third goal for Musa to put it ahead 7-6. But Asif had not given up the chase and made it 7-7 by scoring his sixth goal.

To decide the outcome, the final was extended to an extra fifth chukker and Azhar settled the issue in it by scoring a field goal.

Earlier, in another thrilling match, Ravi Autos defeated Artex International 8- 7 1/2 to get third place.

For the winners, Sufi Haris scored three goals. Sufi Aamir and Capt Malik added two goal each.

Kamran Nooruddin chipped in with a goal.

Feroze Gulzar with three goal was the main scorer for the losers who were playing with one and a half handicap goal. Kamran Zaidi added two goals and Tanvir Tariq a goal.
