Zainie upsets Marium for crown

KARACHI, April 11: Zainie Jamali stunned topseed Marium Khawar Jamli to capture the girls Under-18 singles final of the National Hard Court Juniors Tennis Championship at Karachi Gymkhana on Friday.

After winning the first set 6-2 Zainie lost the second by the identifical margin but bounced back to win the marathon third and deciding set 7-6.

Tanvir Ashiq blitzed Khurram Nazir 6-4, 6-4 to meet Wasif Cheema in the final of Under-18. Wasif was too strong for Mutib Pasha 6-1, 6-1.

The Under-14 final will be between Yasir Khan and Khurram Nazir.
