KARACHI: Admissions continue at NED

KARACHI, Dec 5: Admission process at the NED University of Engineering and Technology Karachi is going on in a smooth and orderly manner and as per schedule.

This was stated by the Vice-Chancellor, Engr. Abul Kalam, while talking to APP on Wednesday.

He said of the 954 seats, as many as 656 candidates have been granted admission so far.

Abul Kalam said the NED University has increased the total number of seats for the coming academic session to 954 from 860 last year.

These 709 seats are being offered under the merit category while 120 admissions would be given under the self-finance scheme.

NED University offers self-finance seat to a candidate against a one-time payment of Rs250,000.

The break-up of the seats offered under the merit category is as under:

Civil Engineering 160; Mechanical 138; Electrical 110; Computer and Information System 100; Textile Engineering 33; Industrial Manufacturing 68.

The number of seats offered under self-finance scheme is as under:

Civil Engineering 5; Mechanical 2, Electrical 30; Electronics 40; Computer and Information System 40; Textile Engineering 2 and Industrial Manufacturing 1.

As many as 25 admissions would be given for the discipline of architecture for the five-year degree course.—APP
