PESHAWAR, April 11: The Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association will hold protest demonstrations in front of provincial assemblies during their sessions against the proposed Model University Ordinance.

This was decided at a meeting of the association here on Friday, according to a press release.

The provincial action committee opposed the Model University Ordinance, contract system and handing over of educational institutions to non-governmental organizations. It decided to take action against policies aimed at destabilizing the education system.

The association demanded reinstatement of suspended teachers.

The meeting decided that teachers would boycott classes in all institutions for an hour daily until their demands were met. The association decided to hold a protest demonstration on April 15 and set up a protest camp and observe huger strike on April 22.
