HYDERABAD, April 8: A meeting held here on Monday decided to give 10 rooms to the District Public Safety Commission (DPSC) at the district council building, resolving the row over allocation of a proper office to the commission.

A participant of the meeting told Dawn DPSC chairman Masood Pervez visited the rooms, located on the ground floor of the building, along with members of the commission.

Mr Pervez had handed over a letter to the DCO, saying that the existing office of the EDO, revenue, at the Darbar hall should be handed over to the DPSC as another office at the revenue house was also being used by the EDO. He had said in the letter Home Minister Sardar Ahmad had told him at a meeting to get possession of the office. The DCO had however refused to give him the Darbar Hall office.

It was agreed at the meeting that besides providing a vehicle to the DPSC, an office clerk, a peon and a watchman would be given to the DPSC and a stenographer and a computer operator would be provided later.

The meeting decided the DCO would approach the finance department for provision of requisite amount to the DPSC for TD/DA. The DCO would also approach the government for funds after quotations were submitted for furniture and other requirements by the DPSC chairman, it said.
