SARGODHA, April 6: Thirty-two industrial units in the Sargodha Industrial Estate are likely to close down in near future for lack of basic infrastructure — which was supposed to be provided by the Small Industrial Corporation.
This was stated here on Sunday by a representative of the affected people, Col Shah Mohammad Malik (retired).
He said that the industrial estate comprised 253 plots. Allotment of 117 plots was cancelled whereas 92 plots were allotted for godowns.
The main reason for the failure of the industrial estate was lack of basic facilities, he said and added, the Punjab government must urgently take steps for rehabilitation of the estate.
EYE CAMP: Punjab Health Minister Tahir Ali Javed visited an eye camp at Sardar Khan Ranjha Trust Hospital in Bhagtanwala some 16km from here.
Hospital chief executive, Senator Dr Khalid Ranjha, welcomed the provincial minister and said that the government should either acquire his land for setting up a hospital for women or depute a lady doctor in the trust hospital.
He also promised to provide a 15-acre piece of land on the Lahore-Sargodha Road for setting up an educational institution for the poor but talented students.
An owner of pharmaceutical company, Mohammad Taqi Jawa, announced free medicines for the hospital while one Chaudhry Lal Khan announced a special donation.
