HYDERABAD, May 5 The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, on Tuesday directed the session judge of Jamshoro to conduct an inquiry into allegations of a petitioner, submit report in 15 days, fix responsibility and take action in accordance with law against those whom he found guilty.

It restrained the DPO of Jamshoro from giving field posting to police officers against whom allegation are levelled until they are exonerated in inquiry.

The division bench, comprising Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice Maqbool Ahmed Awan, passed the order on a petition filed by an employee of Sindh University, Rustam Ali Junejo, a resident of Jamshoro. The petitioner was represented by Ishrat Lohar, advocate. DPO Farrukh Bashir, along with other police officers, attended the court.

The court heard the DPO at length and he stated that let an inquiry be got conducted by sessions judge Jamshoro into the allegations levelled by the petitioner and allegations levelled by Nadir Hussain Junejo, an applicant in a criminal miscellaneous application.

The court directed that sessions judge Jamshoro may examine petitioner Rustam Ali, applicant Nadir Hussain Junejo, and other police officials as well as witnesses produced by the parties.

In the intervening period, the DPO stated that no harassment would be caused to either party. Similarly the petitioner shall not file frivolous application of any nature against police officials.

The court ordered that police officials against whom there are allegations would be posted out and would not hold field posting during inquiry unless they are exonerated.

Ishrat Lohar said that the petitioner was living in Jamshoro for 30 years and his brother Nadir Hussain is also an employee of Sindh University. He said that Zulfiqar Ali Shahani, assistant Mukhtiarkar, also resides in the same society and was a close friend of the SHO of Jamshoro.

He alleged that Shahani is corrupt and in collusion with the SHO tried to grab a vacant plot of petitioner. When he raised objections he was issued threats with implication in false cases. —Staff correspondent
