ISLAMABAD, March 30: Lipton brew to its true colour after the third round dumping all teams, on its way to clinch the Alcatel Pakistan Open Bridge tournament which concluded here at the Islamabad Club on Sunday.

Lipton fielded M.A.Ansari, Tariq Rasheed, Abdul Khaliq and Nasir Raza Khan.

Entering into the fourth round on Sunday, Lipton nipped Electra 22-8, set aside Aces 24-6, overwhelmed Punters 25-3 and rode to victory defeating Air Power 21-9 in the final round.

The Lipton quartet is a fine blend of two pairs, M. A. Ansari-Tariq Rasheed playing natural methods and Abdul Khaliq- Nasir Raza Khan, who are exponents of a scientific method -the precision system.

Finishing at 151 Victory Points (VPs), Lipton stood nearly a match ahead of the second placed team Electra comprising Roshan Bokhari, Tita Agha, Mohsin Chandna, Najam Abid and Jehangir Ahmad. They tallied 128 VPs.

Team Allana, the pre-tournament favourites, took third position with 125 VPs. The star-studded team had Abdul Rahman Allana, Sultana Siddiqui, Rasheed Jaffer and Sarfraz Ahmad.
