Karam captures trophy

KARACHI, March 29: Karam Hussain lifted Metropolitan Bank golf trophy for professional with a two round score of 142 on Saturday at the Karachi Golf Club.

Karachi Golf Club’s Karam had a profitable day when he posted a four-under par 68 to edge out Javed Inayat by three strokes. Karam had on the first day had a two-over par 74.

First day leader Aurangzeb Khan had a miserable afternoon and his seven over-par second round of 79 pushed him to eight place. He finished the first round two under-par 70.

Karam bridied second, fifth, seventh, ninth, 11th but bogeyed the last hole on back nine.

Javed Inayat and Amjad Yousaf finished second and third, three and four strokes behind the winner.

Tomorrow the amateurs, seniors (over 55), ladies and juniors (U-14) events will be held.

Final placings:

142 - Karam Hussain

145 - Javed Inayat

146 - Amjad Yousaf

148 - Ghulam Abbas, Noor Bux, Salim Inayat, Zulfiqar Ali

149 - Aurangzeb Khan, Afsar Ali, Ejaz Hussain, Taj Nabi.
