HYDERABAD, March 29: The Taluka City Council has condemned the “naked aggression” of the USA and the UK against Iraq and called upon the government to sever diplomatic relations with the two western countries.

At its Saturday’s session, the TCC adopted three identical resolutions, tabled by Rana Siddiqui, Qari Niaz Ahmed and Usman Abbasi, which were not a part of the regular agenda.

The resolutions said: “The USA and the UK are using modern equipment to rain bombs on the helpless citizens of Iraq, including women and children.”

Taking part in the debate on the resolutions, Qamaruddin Sheikh, Ilahi Bux, Abdul Hameed and others severely criticised the rulers of Muslim countries.

Coming hard on Arab League, they urged rulers of Muslim countries to take steps for halting the war instead of paying lip service.

They said that since Iran and Pakistan could pose a threat to Israel, the USA and the UK would deem it appropriate to teach them a lesson as well.

Accusing the USA and the UK of committing genocide of Muslims all over the world, they said that instead of halting the war, the United Nations Organisation was protecting the interests of the two countries.

They said that the war was thrust upon Iraq in order to coerce Muslim countries to force them to give up their sovereignty.

The TCC members said: “The Zionist lobby was hatching a conspiracy against the Muslim world in order to establish their hegemony over it.”

Expressing solidarity with the people of Iraq, they demanded of the civilized and peaceful nations of the world to use their influence to stop the war.

Calling for lifting of sanctions against Iraq, they said that George Bush and Tony Blair should be prosecuted in the International Court of Justice.

As a mark of protest against the war, the members boycotted the proceeding of the remaining session. was adjourned till Monday.
