National trials from April 4

KARACHI, March 28: First phase of trials to select five Karachi-based teams for the national bridge trials will be held here at Aslam Memorial Bridge Hall from April 4 to 6, an announcement of Pakistan Bridge Federation (PBF) said here Friday.

Secretary PBF, Tariq Rasheed Khan said that trials would be an open event and all teams, who are interested to participate in the event can approach PBF.

He said PBF is conducting two rounds of trials to select six-member Pakistan squad for the Bridge Federation of Asian and Middle East (BFAME) being held in Jordan in August and for the World Bridge Championship schedule to be held in Monte Carlo in November.

He said five top Karachi teams will join the four top teams for the four-day final trials which will be held in Lahore from May 1 to 4.

He said winning team of the final rounds of trials will represent Pakistan in BFAME and World Bridge Championship.—APP
