KARACHI, March 28: Four ships carrying containers and general cargo are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was slow owing to delay in the scheduled arrivals and as a result only two ships, Mar Challenger to unload and load containers and Maria-1-A to offload fertilizer were berthed after the departure of six.

Sailing on the other hand was maintained on the higher side as six ships departed. They are: Global Prosperity, Al-Mariyah, Fu Yu Shan, Lynx, Sorena and Oriental Tulip, while Mar Challenger, Jorogen and Markur Sea are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was relatively slow where a total tonnage of 36,263 tons comprising 25,362 tons of export cargo including 4,193 tons of rice and 10,901 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Bunga Mastiga and PONL Singapore, with containers, Ocean Starlight, and Lecong, with general cargo.
