LAHORE,  March 26: Twice unsuccessful chestnut filly Key Guy Princess dispelled doubts of her being an unreliable runner when she stormed home by eight lengths to win the feature event during  the mid-week Lahore Gymkhana races at the  Racecourse  on Wednesday.

The filly from Key Guy out-of-Bloody Mary showed  a magnificent  improvement and speed to win comfortably from bay gelding Blue Stone. Even-money fancied Royal Class was nosed out to third position with Princess Of Peace fourth, another two-and- a-quarter lengths behind.

In all, eight ran after the last-minute withdrawal of Easy To Listene. The winner was ridden by Qamar Zaman and is trained by Choudhry Mohammed Siddique.

Key Guy Princess had finished third and off the board in her outings on March 5 and March 16 last, under jockey  Javed Choudhry which caused quite a controversy of her being an unreliable runner.

The owner suspecting some foul-play by Javedy, this time changed the rider and engaged Qamar.

The change paid dividends and the filly won by  a big margin of eight lengths in almost the same  company  of runners.

Qamar stole the limelights by bringing home a brace of winners whe he rode Khan Bahadur to victory in the third race.

The  Lahore Race Club (LRC) stewards were not satisfied  with the performance of well-backed bay mare Madam Lorina, who ran off the frame in the second race.

They  questioned her rider M. Jehangir and not being satisfied with his explanation they suspended him for one month.

They also gave a stern warning to jockey Abdur Rahim for  his poor horsemanship on fancied Royal Class in the feature and fifth event. Royal Class finished third behind Key Guy Princess and Blue Stone.

Key Guy Princess was the only well-backed runner to oblige in a  card of six events. All other winners were available  at  long odds.  All  event were contested over the sprinting  distance  of 1000 metres.
