Lashkar chief calls for Jihad

Published December 3, 2001

SIALKOT, Dec 2: The prolonged US-led military attacks on Afghanistan have brought Pakistan on the verge of disaster due to its hasty foreign policies.

This was stated by the Lashkar-i-Tayyaba Ameer, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, at a meeting held here on Sunday evening.

Hafiz Saeed said president Gen Pervez Musharraf had divested the nation of any confidence by supporting the US in the war of nerves.

The unending barbarism in Afghanistan, he said, paved a way for Taliban as they had not been isolated.

“The Pakistan government should immediately announce a Jihad against non-believers for the survival of Islam,” he urged.
