KHAIRPUR, March 26: The Sindh minister for education, Irfanullah Khan Marwat, attended the convocation, 2003, of the Shah Abdul Latif University on behalf of the Sindh governor.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Marwat congratulated recipients of degrees and gold and silver medals.

He said youths should prepare themselves to meet the present day challenges by keeping themselves abreast with modern educational technologies.

About the unemployment problem in the province, he said the government would lift the ban on employment in a couple of days. He said jobs would be provided to people on merit basis.

The minister also inaugurated a library and, while visiting the under-construction Jamia Mosque in the university premises, he announced Rs1 million for the project.

He directed the district administration to ensure the encroached land of the university was vacated forthwith.

Later, the pro-chancellor of the university gave away degrees to 580 students and gold medals to 15 students of various departments.
