PESHAWAR, March 26: Jamiat Talaba-i-Islam (JTI) on Wednesday organized a peace rally in the provincial metropolis to condemn the US-led aggression against Iraq.

The rally was led by Jamiat Talaba-i-Islam provincial chief Muzammil Khan Mohmand, and JUI-F leader Haji Ahsanul Haq.

The rally began from Namakmandi mosque and marched towards the Shaheedano Chowk in Qissa Khwani bazaar.

Addressing the rally, speakers condemned the US aggression and asked the Pakistani government to call an emergency summit of the Organization of Islamic Countries.

They also asked the government to condemn the US aggression in clear terms and to resign from the UN Security Council as the council had failed to stop the US-led attack on Iraq.

They urged the Islamic countries to set up a joint defence block to counter the growing threat to the Muslims from the US and its allies.

The speakers added that the United Nations had lost its utility and had failed to prove its existence.
