ON BOARD SPECIAL PLANE, March 26: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali on Wednesday directed the foreign ministry to open a Pakistani Consulate in Shanghai and asked to expedite efforts in this regard.

Speaking to newsmen on his way back home in the plane, the prime minister said he had directed to open a consulate in Shanghai which he said was necessary to seek Chinese investment and promote trade between the two countries.

“The consulate will be functional during this financial year, and we will keep on expanding it as per our requirement,” Mr Jamali said.—APP
