KARACHI: JUI chief slams Bush

Published March 26, 2003

KARACHI, March 25: Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Secretary General of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal and chief of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam, has described US-led forces’ invasion of Iraq as ‘international terrorism’.

He was speaking at a reception hosted in his honour by Maulana Azizur Rahman Rahmani and Maulana Talha Rahmani here on Tuesday.

The MMA chief was of the view that imposing war on a sovereign nation could only be regarded as international terrorism. He appealed to the American people to stand up to oppose the ‘satanic designs and fanaticism’ of President Bush or else, he added, “the history will equally hold them responsible for the heavy loss of life and massive destruction in Iraq.”

The United States will never be able to stay content after devastating Iraq because it will have to reap what it was sowing today, the MMA leader warned.—PPI
