KARACHI, March 25: Nine ship carrying containers, general cargo and to load molasses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was relatively slow owing to delayed arrivals and as a result only three ships were berthed. They are: Kota Waris, to unload and load containers, Thor Mette to load general cargo and Bador to unload palm oil were berthed after the departure of four.

Kota Waris, Lamphun Navee, Thor Mette and Nur Yanbu sailed out on Tuesday, while Makhachala, Iron-D, AP Pride and Bador are expected to sail out on Wednesday.

Owing to lesser handling of liquid cargo, the total tonnage was modest totalling 58,910 tons comprising 45,196 tons of export cargo including 19,000 tons of naphtha and molasses and 13,714 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: APL Portugal, Merkur Sea, Astor, Hyundai Highway, Global Prosperity and Mar Challenger, with containers, Eastern Victory, with 16,500 tons of ammonia sulphate and Lynx, with general cargo.
