FAISALABAD, March 24: Two highwaymen were killed and two others injured in a shootout with police in Bahlak, Chak 402-GB, on Monday.
The police claimed that four dacoits were on their way after snatching a car from Okara. A police party tried to stop them at a picket on the Mari Patan Bridge, but its riders accelerated the speed. The police started chasing them, but the outlaws opened fire on them which was retaliated. In the shootout, two outlaws, Afzal and Adil Shahzad, died instantly while Iqbal and Aslam sustained injuries.
The police arrested them and recovered a Kalashnikov, two rifles and a pistol from them.
