KOHAT, March 24: Hundreds of workers of Muttahida Majlis-i- Amal and the banned Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan clashed here when a Jamaat-i-Islami leader raised the slogan “Allama Sajid Naqvi Zindabad” during an anti-war demonstration on Monday.

Two groups of protesters gathered at the main bazaar, one came from Kotwali Masjid and other from Haji Bahadar.

When they reached main bazaar some Sipah-i-Sahaba members asked the Jamaat activists not to raise the slogan “Allama Sajid Naqvi Zindabad”. He paid no heed to their demand. Later SSP activists grabbed the former district amir of JI Mohammad Abid Khan and beat him up.

After sometime the police intervened and stopped the fighting. A Jirga was also held in the bazaar which cooled down the emotions of enraged groups.
