KARACHI, March 24: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has said it is the need of the hour that women get higher education in society.

He was speaking at a prize-distribution ceremony on the parents’ day at the Premier Grammar School, Government College of Technology, on Monday.

The City Nazim said that in Pakistan there is a class-based education system which should be eliminated and English should not be the medium of education.

“Our children can learn more through their mother tongues,” he said, adding “there are various countries including China, France and Russia which have made their mother tongues as medium of learning and got height of glories.”

Mr Khan observed that a uniform education system was required for development of the country.

The Nazim said he had vowed not to allow any one to make schooling as a business and added that self-finance education scheme could not be implemented during his tenure.—PPI
