PESHAWAR, Dec 2: The NWFP Governor, Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah, said on Saturday the government would work out a new mechanism to ensure that financial discipline and financial management in the tribal area was above board.

In this connection, he ordered the formation of a team, to be headed by the finance secretary along with three other political agents as its members, to work out modus operandi.

The governor said that maintenance of law and order and establishing the writ of the government was the prime responsibility of the administration.

He was addressing a meeting which was held to discuss law and order situation and other matters relating to the tribal areas, at the Governor’s   House.

Mr Shah said the government would evolve a transparent mechanism for carrying out financial management and maintaining financial discipline in the tribal belt.” We are looking forward to deputing some   financial managers to undertake financial discipline and auditing of funds of political agencies in a transparent manner”.
