KARACHI, March 23: Sindh National Front Chief Mumtaz Ali Bhutto on Saturday called on Muttahida Qaumi Movement head Altaf Hussain at MQM’s International Secretariat in London.

Both the leaders, while exchanging views on the international scenario in relation to Iraq, problems faced by Pakistan and the overall political situation in the country, emphasised on the unity between the rural and urban people in Sindh and resolved to make joint efforts to bring these people closer.

They agreed that in the backdrop of ongoing war in Iraq, Pakistan was also passing through a precarious phase calling for national integration, which could only be achieved through granting full provincial autonomy to the provinces.

They also agreed that the time had arrived for the leaders of Sindh to come forward and work for the attainment of the rights of Sindh.

They expressed their sorrow and concern over loss of innocent lives in the ongoing attack on Iraq and while deliberating on the consequences of the war in the region they agreed that because of the war Pakistan was also passing through a crisis and therefore it was essential that decisions be made in the national interest.

“It is essential in the present international scenario to resolve all the matters immediately,” the leaders observed.

Both the leaders advised the federal government and the establishment to realise the miseries of the people of the country, in general, and those of the people of smaller provinces, in particular.
