Seven houses gutted

NAWABSHAH, March 22: Seven houses were gutted when fire broke out in the Khan Mohammad Chandio village near Sakrand on Friday.

The houses of Ghulam Rasool Brohi, Hamzo Bux, Mohammad Nawaz, Maula Bux, Wahid Bux, Juma Khan and Khadim Brohi were gutted and 20 wheat bags, cash, gold ornament and other valuables were reduced to ashes due to the fire.

The fire brigade reached the village after two hours and extinguished the fire.

DRAINAGE SYSTEM: The residents of Shahpur Jehanian, near Daulatpur, staged a demonstration here on Friday, demanding repair of the drainage system.

Led by Nizamuddin Bughio, Wazir Jaskani and Mohammad Hussain Bughio, the protesters said gutters were overflowing due to the collapse of the drainage system.

INJURED: Two men were injured when their motorcycle was hit by a speedy van on the Nawabshah-Khadar Road on Friday night.

The injured, Shahid and Imran, were admitted to the People’s Medical College Hospital.

KILLED: A young man, Ali Ahmed, was shot dead allegedly by Ali Asghar Khaskheli in Aliabad, Doulatpur taluka on Friday.

Mohammad Arif, the uncle of deceased, has lodged an FIR with the Aliabad police.

Motive behind the murder could not be immediately ascertained.
