HYDERABAD, March 22: The All Sindh Teachers Association (ASTA) has demanded of the government to establish residential colonies for teachers and provide them plots on easy installments.

The demand was made at a meeting of the ASTA held here the other day at the Government Irshad Boys Primary School, Pacca Qila.

Other demands made by teachers leaders at the meeting by adopting several resolutions included that hospitals’ panel for teachers should be announced, MEd and BEd pass teachers should be given voluntary increment and those who had passed MEd and BEd from the old campus of the Sindh University should also be given increments.

The meeting also demanded that an easy process of drawing salaries from banks should be introduced, children of teachers should be given priority during appointments and 52 secondary and 191 primary sacked teachers should be reinstated.
