BATKHELA, July 13 Two suspected militants were found hanged at two main squares of the Malakand division as a convoy of about 200 vehicles carrying back displaced persons from Swat crossed Batkhela on Monday.
The body of suspected militant Mustafa, son of Abdul Wahid, a resident of Haibatgram, was found hanged at the Hashtnagri Chowk of the Thana bazaar. A banner found with the body read “Those found to have links with militants will meet the same fate. The militants are enemies of Islam, Pakistan and the people of the area as they were spreading hate, terror and violence in the region. The people are warned not to remove the body till 12 noon.”
The people of the area buried the body later in the afternoon. The body of Afzal Khan, a resident of Osmanikhel Garhai in the Dargai tehsil, was found hanged with a pole along the Dargai River on the main road.
Meanwhile, about 200 vehicles, including buses, cars and pickups, crossed the Batkhela bazaar from 12noon to late in the evening to shift displaced people back to Swat amid tight security and curfew. A woman and child were killed for violating curfew in Batkhela.
