IUB overwhelm NED

LAHORE,  March  19: Five more matches were  decided  in  the Inter-varsity  boys hockey championship at two different  centres on Wednesday.

Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) overwhelmed NED Engineering University,  Karachi, 7-0. Mukhar Ahmad (2), Anwar-ul-Haq (2), Shahid Feroze, Rehan Shah and Samiullah were the scorers.

Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur, squeezed past Sindh University 2-1. Nasir and Abu Bakar scored for the winners while Owais-ud-Din reduced the margin for the losers.

Peshawar University thrashed Engineering University, Taxila 11-0. Zahid Ali (3). Qazi Zabeeh (2), Sajjad (2), Yasir, Kashif, Mumtaz Ali and Aamirullah chipped were the goal getters.

Agriculture University, Peshawar, ousted Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, 2-1. For the winners Sohail and Waqar shared the scoring honours. Ashfaq was on target for the losers.

Punjab  University thrashed Government College University, Lahore, 6-1. Rashid Minhas (2), Shahbaz Masih (2) and Rana Waqas (2) scored two goals each. For the losers, Adeel scored the  solitary goal.
