PESHAWAR, March 19: Police arrested eight alleged hardened criminals and 32 other outlaws here on Wednesday in an operation at Badhber and Matani.

According to a press release, the operation was started before dawn on Wednesday in the Shahabkhel and Sheikhan areas of Badhber and Matani.

The arrested outlaws in the crackdown were identified as Naseer Ullah, son of Dary Khan; Minhaj, Bakhtyar, Mehr Shah, Mukhtiyar, sons of Jalat Khan; Abdur Rahim, son of Gul Ahmad; Fazal Ahmad, son of Gul Ahmad, and Jan Mohammad, son of Gul Ahmad. They were wanted in murder cases.

The police also arrested 32 persons on the charge of possessing illicit weapons and harbouring the eight POs. Six Kalashnikovs, seven rifles, three 30-bore pistols and 300 cartridges of different calibre were also seized.
