LAHORE, March 18: A moderate card of six events has been laid out for the midweek Lahore Gymkhana races to be held at the Racecourse on Wednesday.

The events comprise ordinary runners in the lower divisions of class VII to be run over the sprinting distance of 1200 metres. In all, 66 runners barring last-minute withdrawals, will be vying for supremacy in the six events.

The feature and the fifth event, the Chenab Plate class VII division I has a dozen runners, if there are no last-minute withdrawals.

Of them four come into reckoning. They are: Morning Noor, Pistol Pete, Prince Of Peace and Royal Bullet. Red-roan gelding Morning Noor, who had been consistently appearing on board in his seven previous outings without success, may make amends this time. Things look going his way.

The supporting and first event, the Chenab Plate class VII division II has the biggest field of 17 runners and is packed with in-form sprinters.

At least eight runners are in chance and if sent on job should fight closely thus providing both thrills and shrills to race-goers. Four of them are better performers in races in the recent past. They are: Al trui Princess, Waseem ‘s Love, Sun Of Gold and lot Of Thanks.

The first race will be held at 1.30 pm.
