LG system will stay: Maqbool

Published March 19, 2003

SARGODHA, March 18: Governor Khalid Maqbool says the present local government system is there to stay as it enjoys constitutional protection.

Speaking at the sixth ABEX open golf prize distribution on Tuesday, he said that district governments were running successfully and there were no differences between members of parliament and councillors.

TIGHT SECURITY: The main Khushab-Sargodha and College roads were blocked by police during the governor’s visit.

Several motorists reportedly scuffled with police parties.
