KARACHI, March 18: The federal secretary for information and media development, Syed Anwar Mahmood, has said the government is aware of the problems being faced by the regional press, and every effort is being made for their solution.

He was speaking to participants of a meeting of the regional press in a local hotel on Tuesday. The meeting was held under the auspices of the regional press committee of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society.

Mr Mahmood said the regional press should get its due rights. He said the focus of Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali was on the development of those areas in the country that were less developed.—APP
