KARACHI: Teenager commits suicide

KARACHI, March 18: A teenaged girl committed suicide by hanging herself in New Karachi late Monday night.

Police said Ajmaira Hamid, 15, a student of class IX, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in her home in Sector 11-B.

Police quoting family sources said when the girl did not open the door of her room, they broke it down and found her hanging from the ceiling fan.

Consequently, the police were informed about the incident. Family members told the police that the victim’s mother had scolded her on Monday night.

DIES: Body of an unidentified young boy was found in a water-tank in Surjani Town on Tuesday.

The body was shifted to Abbasi Hospital for postmortem, police said.

Police said the body was three to four days old. It was later shifted to the Edhi’s morgue for identification.

ACCIDENT: A transport worker, Fazal, 20, died during a race between two water tankers on Mauripur Road on Tuesday.

Police claimed to have arrested both the drivers and impounded their vehicles.

INJURED: Several students were injured in a clash between two student groups at the Sindh Medical College on Tuesday.

According to reports, police said two students groups fought with each other over the setting up of camps. They used sticks and soft drink bottles to injure the rivals.

As a result of the clash, three students of IJT and two students of the PSA suffered injuries.
