LAHORE, March 17: Punjab Inspector General of Police Syed Masood Shah has taken notice of a news item regarding police’s ‘reluctance’ to register cases at some police stations in Jhang.

The IGP has directed the provincial investigation branch to send a special team to the district to probe the matter.

Additional Inspector General of Police (investigation) Shaukat Javed has sent an inquiry team, which will submit its report to the IGP at the earliest.

The IGP said appropriate action would be taken in the light of the inquiry team’s findings.—APP
