MULTAN, March 15: A local religious leader was stabbed to death allegedly by his pupil here on Saturday.

According to the FIR lodged by the deceased’s son, Abdul Hayee, a man named Sheikh Zahoor came to his house and inquired about his father Pir Abdul Khaliq. When his father appeared at the door, he said Zahoor, who frequently visited his father to take lessons, dragged him out and exchanged harsh words. After few minutes, he pulled out a dagger and stabbed Pir Khaliq, his son added.

The injured died on way to a hospital while the assailant fled. Cheliyak police are investigating.
