KARACHI, March 15: The Chief Controller of Buildings, Brig A. S. Nasir, has asked the owners of illegally constructed buildings to submit cases of regularisation till March 18.

Brig Nasir said special counters set up for receipt of cases of regularization were kept open on the 9th and the 10th of Muharram also so that the people could benefit from the same even during holidays.

During these two days, 200 forms were sold and 50 cases submitted, including cases of schools and others.

The KBCA has proposed cut in regularization fee for middle income people.

Meanwhile, the KBCA teams demolished RCC slabs of 6th floor on plot No RL- 30, Lawrence Quarters, slabs on first floor on plot No 883, Jamshed Quarters while iron bars and columns were cut down on second floor with gas cutters.

In another operation, RCC columns of ground floor and all blocks of first floor on plot No 3, 4-A/2, Nazimabad, were demolished. However, further action was stopped in view of law and order problem.

In Block-4 Nazimabad, shops, internal columns and blocks on plot No C-3, were demolished. The demolition action in this case also had to be stopped because of law and order problem and non-availability of police support.

The KBCA team also pulled down the shuttering at the ground floor of plot No 37, Katchi Memon Cooperative Society and the courtyard was sealed.—APP
