KARACHI, March 13: The traffic police have announced the following traffic arrangements for Ashura, the 10 of Muharram-ul Haram.

On March 14, a Majlis will be held at Nishtar Park between 7am and 8.30am, and, thereafter, a procession will be taken out for Hussainian Iranian, Kharadar.

The route will be as follows:

Nishtar Park, Sir Shah, Nawaz Bhutto Road, Father Jaminis Road, Mehfil-i-Shah-i-Khurasan, M A Jinnah Road, Mansfield Street, Preedy Street, again M A Jinnah Road, Boulton Market, Bombay Bazar, Kharadar, Nawab Mahabat Khanji Road to Hussainian Iranian.

Similarly, all buses, mini-buses, trucks and other heavy vehicles approaching from the National Highway side shall proceed via Rashid Minhas Road, Stadium Road, Sir Shah Suleman Road, Hassan Square, Liaquatabad-10, Nazimabad Chowrangi-2, Habib Bank, Manghopir Road Chowrangi, State Avenue Road, Sher Shah to Mauripur Road.

For return journey, these vehicles shall proceed via the same route.

Similarly, all buses, mini-buses, trucks and other heavy vehicles approaching from the Guru Mandir signal shall be diverted to Bahadur Yar Jang Road and again on Khan Bahadur Naqi Mohammad Khan Road and shall proceed via Nishtar Road from the junction of Khan Bahadur Naqi Mohammed Khan Road and Bahadur Yar Jang Road.

Under no circumstances, these vehicles shall be permitted to proceed along Soldier Bazar Road from the junction of Bahadur Yar Jang Road and Khan Bahadur Naqi Mohammed Khan Road.

A check-post shall, however, be established at the roundabout in front of Hassan Square to prevent

All trucks, buses, mini-buses and other heavy vehicles proceeding towards the jail side shall be stopped at Hasan Square.

All cars coming from the Quaid’s Mazar side along M A Jinnah Road will be diverted towards Bahadur Yar Jang Road.

No vehicular traffic will be permitted to proceed towards Old Exhibition traffic signal under any circumstances.

All vehicular traffic coming from the Old Exhibition side via Shahrah-i-Quaideen (except those arriving for participating in the procession having stickers on their wind screens issued by the traffic police) shall not be permitted to proceed ahead from the roundabout of Shahrah-i-Quaideen and Link Road behind Mazar-i-Quaid-i-Azam.

No bus, mini-bus, trucks or any other heavy vehicle shall be permitted to proceed this point towards Old Exhibition traffic signal.

All traffic going towards Saddar and other colonies will not be permitted to proceed towards Empress Market from the junction of the Preedy Street and Sarmad Road, Preedy Street and M A Jinnah, Shahrah-i-Liaquat and Cantonment Road, Shahrah-i-Liaquat and Mohammed Bin Qasim Road.

Similarly, all vehicles proceeding towards Saddar via M A Jinnah Road shall not be permitted to proceed from its junction with Preedy Street and Aga Khan Road.—PPI
