Wapda’s Basit sprints to glory

ISLAMABAD, March 11: Basit Munir of Wapda won the 200m sprint Tuesday by clocking 21.2 sec in the SAF Games Ranking meet that concluded at the Jinnah Stadium.

The Wapda sprinter left behind team-mate Nazim Shah who was home in 21.6 sec and Army’s Maqsood Ahmed finished third in 21.7 sec.

200m (men): Basit Munir (Wapda) 21.2, Nazim Shah (Wapda) 21.6, Maqsood Ahmed 21.7

Hammer throw (men): Nadeem Ahmed (Wapda) 62.88, Ghulam Shabbir (Army) 60.30m, Mushtaq Hussain (Army) 41.80m

Javelin throw (women): Shabana Kausar (Wapda) 40.86m, Parveen Akhtar (Railways) 37.54m

400m hurdles (men): Allah Ditta (Army) 52.9, Iftikhar Hussain (Railways) 53.3, Ilyas Shah (Army) 54.9

High jump (women): Bazgha Ali (Wapda) 1.55m, Naveeda Malik (POF Wah) 1.55m, Rozina Shafqat 1.53m

200m (women): Saira Fazal (Wapda) 25.2, Naseem Hameed (Sindh) 27.5

5000m (men): Nausahd Khan (Army) 14:57.3, Waris (Army) 15:02.3, Dilshad (Army) 15:02.9

Triple jump (men): Wasim (Army) 14.79m, Zafar Iqbal (Army) 14.73m, Riaz (Army) 13.77m
