KARACHI, March 11: Reacting to a statement by the Sindh minister of education on new laws for the regulation of private schools, an office-bearer of the PML (N) Sindh said on Tuesday the government should mainly care for the improvement of academic atmosphere and educational standards in government schools.
“The Private Schools Act of 1974 addresses all aspects of education, so the government, instead of introducing any new bills on the subject, should form a task force of educationists drawn from both the public and private sectors to review the Act and recommend amendments to it keeping in view the present-day educational needs of society.”
“A comparison of government schools with private schools shows that due to the deterioration of academic standards in the former, parents have lost confidence in them,” additional general secretary of the Sindh chapter of the party Khawaja Tariq Nazir added.
